It’s hard to go 24 hours without running into something that is impacted by technology. Beyond our always-connected culture, even the greenest granola-eating tree-huger is apt to explore the mountains with a GPS and high-tech gear that was designed with CAD-CAM software.

The complexity of technology is also moving more and more projects into larger teams that require greater collaboration.  Unfortunately, the dedication and near obsession with one’s technical trade that has traditionally led to mastery is no longer enough. Geeks also need to focus on the interpersonal skills that are becoming increasingly necessary for projects and teams to succeed.

More and more, what we need are Collaborative Geeks.
